Ceylon Tea Regions

Elevation tells you the cup.

Ceylon teas split by growing elevation. High-grown (above 1,200m — Nuwara Eliya, Uva, Dimbula) produce delicate, bright, aromatic teas with golden infusion. Mid-grown (600–1,200m — Kandy) balance body and aroma. Low-grown (below 600m — Ruhuna, Sabaragamuwa) produce strong, full-bodied teas with darker liquor — the format that anchors most breakfast blends and food-service supply.

For UK trade buyers building a tea programme, the region designation on the pack is a real procurement and shelf-side signal. We supply across elevations and can match grade to use-case — premium retail, hotel breakfast service, bagging operations, or single-estate specialty.

Quality controls we operate

  • EU/UK pesticide MRL compliance per batch (glyphosate flagged)
  • Moisture content checked on arrival
  • Estate / region traceability documented
  • Cupping notes available for premium-grade lots
